Laboratory Animal Care Unit

The Laboratory Animal Care Unit is a facility fully compliant with international ethical standards, structured to maintain the highest levels of welfare, health, and genetic standardization for subjects used in scientific research. The unit comprises specialized housing areas with controlled environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, light cycles) where biosafety and hygiene protocols are rigorously implemented. To preserve the physiological and psychological well-being of the subjects, enriched living environments are provided, and all processes are conducted under veterinary supervision in accordance with ethical committee guidelines.

Beyond providing housing services, our unit possesses a technical infrastructure that supports the preparatory phases of behavioral and electrophysiological studies. The preservation of genetic lines, regular health screenings, and pre- and post-operative care services establish a critical foundation for the efficiency and reproducibility of ongoing in-vivo research. Aiming to maximize data quality in scientific outputs, our laboratory provides a responsible and ethical research environment based on the "3R" (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) principles.
