Gait and Balance

GAIT AND BALANCE

The Gait and Balance Laboratory is an advanced analysis unit that evaluates the biomechanical properties and neuromotor control mechanisms of human movement using objective parameters. Our laboratory is equipped with high-resolution optical motion capture camera systems that perform three-dimensional (3D) kinematic analysis of movement with millimeter precision. These optical systems operate synchronously with force plates measuring ground reaction forces and surface electromyography (sEMG) devices that simultaneously record muscle activation patterns. Through this integrated infrastructure, the spatio-temporal parameters of gait, postural sway, and balance dynamics are modeled with high accuracy, enabling the quantitative mapping of motor deficits in neurological dysfunctions and rehabilitation processes.
