An event titled "From Digital to Traditional, Awakening from Screen to Field" was organized by our university's Institute of Health Sciences and the Institute of Neuroscience and Neurotechnology. During the event, which took place in front of the Faculty of Technology, Kökbörü, a traditional Turkish sport, was introduced.

The opening speech of the event was delivered by Prof. Dr. Saniye Bilici, Director of the Institute of Health Sciences. In her speech, Prof. Dr. Saniye Bilici stated that, with today's rapidly advancing technology, children in particular have become addicted to digital technologies such as television and mobile phones. Expressing that they organized this event to raise awareness of the harms of these addictions and to direct children toward traditional Turkish sports and games, Prof. Dr. Saniye Bilici explained that Gazi University has taken a pioneering role in this regard.

Our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Necdet Hayta, also delivered a speech on screen addiction among children and youth, noting that the event aimed to raise awareness about the health of our children and young people.

Emphasizing that screen addiction among children and youth also threatens public health, Prof. Dr. Necdet Hayta explained that the digital transformation has simultaneously engendered a longing for traditional games, sports, and customs. Expressing the importance of raising individuals who can both use technology and uphold their traditional values, our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Necdet Hayta, expressed his gratitude to those who contributed to organizing the event.

Following the speeches, a demonstration of Kökbörü was performed. Our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Necdet Hayta, also visited the stands in the area and received information from the students.

🧠 The effects of screen usage on attention were observed through cognitive tests and sensory illusion applications conducted at the NÖROM stand.
