Dr. İrem Akdogan received a Travel Award at the 48th European Conference on Visual Perception (ECVP 2026), held in Bournemouth, United Kingdom, from 23 to 27 August 2026.
At the conference, Dr. Akdogan presented recent findings from an ongoing migraine project conducted at NÖROM. The study investigates how aperiodic EEG dynamics may reflect altered cortical responses to visual exposure in migraine. The findings are expected to contribute to a better understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying vulnerability to sensory overload in individuals with migraine.
The research is part of a migraine project led by Prof. Dr. Hulusi Kafaligonul at NÖROM in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Hayrunnisa Bolay.
