Our researcher Assoc. Prof. Simge Aykan's TÜBİTAK 3501 Career Development Project application has been granted. The project titled "The Role of Multisensory Processing on Social Cognition" will be carried out in collaboration with lecturer Prof. Dr. Meral Huri from Hacettepe University Occupational Therapy Department. The main purpose of the study is to reveal the potential relationship between multisensory processing processes, mirror neuron activity and mentalization function. Secondarily, it questions how neuropsychiatric characteristics (autistic, attention deficit/hyperactivity and schizotypal characteristics) are related to different stages of social cognition. The results to be obtained will be useful in shedding light on how processes related to social cognition interact with each other. In the long term, the project is expected to contribute to the discovery of new biomarkers related to neurodevelopmental disorders and the quantitative measurement of the effectiveness of therapeutic methods.
We congratulate our researcher and wish her continued success.
