Cooperation Opportunities Discussed within the Scope of the Visit
Our University's Neuroscience and Neurotechnology Center of Excellence Joint Application and Research Center (NÖROM) continues to strengthen international academic collaborations. In this context, a high-level delegation from Sudan visited NÖROM.
During the visit, our Vice Rectors, Prof. Dr. Hasan Tezer and Prof. Dr. Serhat Karyeyen, our Center Director, Prof. Dr. Hayrunnisa Bolay Belen, and our Deputy Director, Prof. Dr. Meltem Bahçelioğlu, came together with the Sudanese delegation.
The delegation included Mohieldin Salim Ahmed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Sudan; Gamal Malik Goraish, Director General for European and American Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sudan; and Nadir Yousif Eltayeb, Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the Republic of Turkey. The meetings were also attended by Mustafa Efe, Head of the Department of International Relations of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), and Abdulaziz Sayar, Assistant Expert at YÖK.
Research Infrastructure and Joint Projects Examined
During the meeting, potential opportunities for academic and scientific cooperation between the two institutions were discussed in detail. Following the meeting, the delegation toured the academic units and received on-site information regarding NÖROM’s research infrastructure and ongoing studies.
The visit concluded after mutual exchanges of views and tours of the academic units. This meaningful meeting is expected to be an important step toward developing international academic relations and implementing joint research activities in the future.
