The Taş Tepeler Project investigates humanity's first "social organization."

Starting at Göbeklitepe, the Taş Tepeler Project comprehensively examines humanity's transition to a settled lifestyle with over 200 researchers from 36 academic institutions.

Prof. Dr. Necmi Karul, Head of the Department of Prehistory at Istanbul University and Coordinator of the Taş Tepeler Project, stated that Neolithic Age research in Şanlıurfa sheds light on one of the most significant transformations in human history, noting that the process of transitioning to a settled lifestyle forms the foundations of today's social order.

Prof. Dr. Necmi Karul: "The monumental structures at Göbeklitepe and Karahantepe can be considered as the first assemblies."
